Jack & Jake, Island-40 MS River

Welcome to Jack & Jakes

We are the future for sustainable food in Louisiana.
Jack and Jake’s is building a new local food system in the New Orleans area to reconnect local farmers and fishers with those who need access to fresh healthy foods most.

It all started on a share cropper’s farm (Island-40, Mississippi River) with a small wood-framed house, no electricity, no tractor, and two mules named Jack and Jake. My family helped clear the land, planted crops, and harvested what they could with the help of Jack and Jake. It takes hard work and dedication to physically realize something you believe in At Jack and Jake’s, we believe in:

 • fresh healthy foods at an affordable price
 • a safe food supply from local farms and fishers
 • a healthy community that starts with better food for kids, students, and those with special dietary needs in hospitals.

Please join us and help reconnect the people of south Louisiana with their farmers, their fishers in the Gulf, and with the local healthy food supply they provide.
